According to reporting by The New York Times, the European Union is poised to allow fully vaccinated Americans to visit its member nations this summer.
Americans who received the Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech, and Johnson & Johnson vaccine shots are set to qualify for travel. No timeline has been yet been established for when Americans will be able to jetset off to their favorite European cities, but the EU is looking forward to achieving herd immunity by mid-June.
Some EU countries have actually already begun welcoming international tourists. Last week, Greece announced they will no longer require quarantines for visitors from several countries, including those from the United States.
Additionally, Croatia is now waiving pre-arrival testing for visitors who are vaccinated, and Iceland has opened its borders to vaccinated travelers, including Americans.
