Etihad Airways recently unveiled its new onboard safety video, which will premiere on the carrier’s Boeing 787s starting this month.
The video features actual Etihad employees playing the roles of passengers and crewmembers. Arguably, however, its biggest star is the Louvre Abu Dhabi, an architectural marvel located in the city’s cultural district. Although the museum has no direct connection to aviation, it proves to be a beautiful setting for mock life vest inflations and oxygen mask donning.
Unlike many of the safety videos that have been released by airlines in the recent past, you won’t find any dancing or singing in this one. Instead of going for something a little more whimsical and theatrical, it’s clear that Etihad chose a more traditional approach. The imagery and music, part of Etihad’s new signature sound collection, have a cosmopolitan yet calming quality.
